چکیده
Power system state estimation is an important component of the status and healthiness underlying electric power grid real-time monitoring. However, such a prone to cyber-physical attacks. The majority research in systems security focuses on detecting measurements False-Data Injection While this important, measurement model parameters are also most part process. Measurement though, known as static-data, not monitored real-life applications. solutions ultimately provide estimated states. A state-of-the-art presents two-step process towards simultaneous false-data injection security: detection correction. Detection steps χ2 statistical hypothesis test based, while correction consider augmented vector approach. In addition, step uses iterative solution relaxed non-linear with no guarantee optimal solution. This paper linear programming method detect correct cyber-attacks parameters. presented bi-level integrates steps. An easy-to-implement model, built classical weighted least squares solution, without hard-to-derive parameters, highlights potential aspects

Detecting Cyber Attacks On Nuclear Power Plants
This paper proposes an unconventional anomaly detection approach that provides digital instrumentation and control (I&C) systems in a nuclear power plant (NPP) with the capability to probabilistically discern between legitimate protocol frames and attack frames. The stochastic activity network (SAN) formalism is used to model the fusion of protocol activity in each digital I&C system and the op...
متن کاملCyber Risk Analysis of Combined Data Attacks Against Power System State Estimation
Understanding smart grid cyber attacks is key for developing appropriate protection and recovery measures. Advanced attacks pursue maximized impact at minimized costs and detectability. This paper conducts risk analysis of combined data integrity and availability attacks against the power system state estimation. We compare the combined attacks with pure integrity attacks false data injection (...
متن کاملOnline State Space Model Parameter Estimation in Synchronous Machines
The purpose of this paper is to present a new approach based on the Least Squares Error method for estimating the unknown parameters of the nonlinear 3rd order synchronous generator model. The proposed method uses the mathematical relationships between the machine parameters and on-line input/output measurements to estimate the parameters of the nonlinear state space model. The field voltage is...
متن کاملInterdicting Attack Graphs to Protect Organizations from Cyber Attacks: A Bi-Level Attacker-Defender Model
Today’s organizations are inherently open and connected, sharing knowledge and ideas in order to remain innovative. As a result, these organizations are also more vulnerable to information theft through different forms of security breaches caused by hackers and competitors. One way of understanding the vulnerability of an information system is to build and analyze the attack graph of that syste...
متن کاملComparing Kalman Filters and Observers for Dynamic State Estimation with Model Uncertainty and Malicious Cyber Attacks
Kalman filters and observers are two main classes of dynamic state estimation (DSE) routines. Power system DSE has been implemented by various Kalman filters, such as the extended Kalman filter (EKF) and the unscented Kalman filter (UKF). In this paper, we discuss two challenges for an effective power system DSE: (a) model uncertainty and (b) potential cyber attacks. To address this, the cubatu...
